Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State, Alex Otti shocked many as he attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leaders meeting in Abuja, barely 48 hours to the election run-off in Abia state where he goes head to head with Okezie Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The meeting, which was held at the Rivers State Governors’ Lodge at Asokoro, Abuja starting from the night of Wednesday, April 22, 2015 to Thursday, April 23, 2015 was meant to reach an agreement on the zoning of political offices and appointments.

According to Punch, the meeting ended in a stalemate after party leaders adjourned the meeting, as they felt more consultations needed to be done before positions are shared.

APC leaders present at the meeting included President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari; the Vice-President-elect, Yomi Osinbajo; former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; National Leader of the APC and former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu; former National Chairman of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, Ogbonnaya Onu publisher of Leadership Newspaper, Sam Nda- Isaiah; the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Rochas Okorocha, Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi; Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-Makura, and Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Making surprise appearances at the meeting was the Chairman Senate Committee on Millennium Development Goals, Ali Ndume and the aforementioned Alex Otti.

It is unclear why Otti was at the meeting but reports say it was meant to “consolidate on a working relationship he has developed with the APC.:
