The Nigerian Army has promised an N3 million fee for information that may lead to the arrest of Abubakar Shekau, the fugitive factional leader of the Boko Haram terrorist group.

The army announced the bounty in a statement signed by its Spokesman,  Sani Usman, on Thursday, February 15, 2018, It is a very small reward, compared with the $7million the Americans had offered for information on the terrorist in June 2013.

“Anybody with such credible information can either contact the Military Command and Control Centre, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, any military location, security agencies or call the Nigerian Army Information and Call Centre 193,” Usman said.

Recall that the Nigerian Army had on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, said that it had credible information that Shekau was now dressing as a woman in an effort to escape the Theatre of Operation.

“We reliably gathered that to avoid detection, Abubakar Shekau alternates between blue and black coloured hijabs. He was last seen in a black hijab.

“He is running for his dear life. He is desperately trying to escape the Theatre, disguises as a woman and dresses in Hijab,’’ the Army Spokesman said in a statement.
