Bola Tinubu And 2013: President Buhari Be On Your Guard [MUST READ]

Must read

[dropcap]I[/dropcap] read through the defence of Asiwaju’s spin doctor that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu could not make it to the commissioning of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s projects last week because he travelled abroad and Buhari knew about it. Cheeky!

This is like playing the ostrich, who in an attempt to hide will bury the head in the ground leaving the entire body outside.

Now this spin doctor must think Nigerians have saw dust for their brains, to have dished out this spin.

To start with who in the Nigerian political space of today is oblivious of the relationship between Governor Ambode and Asiwaju and his league of cheerleaders?

Who is unaware of the fact that Asiwaju singlehandedly decided the fate of Ambode with regard to his second term bid? And supervised his termination under the guise of party men not inclined to Ambode’s second term?

This is inspite of the many interventions from several Nigerians from the lowly to the highly placed including the same President Buhari himself.

The Oracle could not be appeased inspite of the huge libations poured and sacrifices over the past four years as told by those who know, yet the Oracle of Bourdillon never budged until the Oracle had his way.

When the Oracle had not spoken, the entire National assembly members from Lagos including Asiwaju’s wife Senator Remi Tinubu was in the fore front of attending pre-declaration rallies in Aso- Ebi for Ambode’s second term, but when the Oracle struck, all the effusive comments; dripping kind words about the superlative performances of Governor Ambode became muffled overnight until the voices became inaudible, the fear of the Oracle is the beginning of wisdom.

Now has anybody forgotten the noose of impeachment dangled in the face of Governor Ambode? It took several interventions to stave that off too, if not practical whipping in line only God will tell what it is.

So with one month to the end of Ambode’s tenure and his desire to take the glory for his hard work over the past four years; which the Oracle had instructed him not to try to commission, it was clear that a collision was ahead but with the acceptance of President Buhari to commission the projects,Ambode had a temporary shield against fiery darts and reprisals from the Oracle.

But the Oracle did everything to take the shine off that day by staying away and now explained it away that he was outside of the country as if the commissioning day by the President was an impromptu or after thought decision.

Without doubt a formal or informal notice must have gone to the Oracle about this event and the President’s state visit, and knowing that he would not be able to explain it away, the safe alibi was to jet out.

And so President Buhari ‘s official and state visit was made to look dry and drab, let nobody make no mistakes it was clearly orchestrated to be so since Asiwaju could not persuade President Buhari not to attend.

So clearly instructions went out that the creme de la creme of the Lagos firmament should stay away, from the political through economic to royalty, all stayed away on the instructions of the Oracle Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Clearly so.

Ambode could not have been able to challenge that instruction because he is already on the downhill, his grip of the lever of power is getting weaker as the day goes by with less than six weeks to go.

The swinging of the power pendulum is what everyone respects in our contemporary society.

With the next holder of the lever of power fully within the grip of the Oracle, nobody will dare go against the instructions of the Oracle. So there was full compliance, all stayed away.

And so if Asiwaju Bola Tinubu had to travel, he could not ensure a befitting reception for the President?

Did he travel with all Oba of Lagos and the white cap chiefs?

Where was the command performance of the popular Eyo that typified warmth of the people of Lagos and a feature of the activities for a guest that was truly welcomed?

Where were the Ojoras? the Okoyas? etc? Representing the indigenous economic base holders of Lagos?

Now even popular clerics were on sabbatical!

The most glaring was the total absence of all Senators elect or returning ; House of Representatives members elect and returning, the appointees of federal government except Abike Dabiri , all were significantly absent including Senator Remi Tinubu , Asiwaju’s wife who was in the country! While the Majority leader of the party in the house of representatives Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila the one being pushed for speakership of the House of Representatives smartly disappeared to Saudi Arabia, on pilgrimage that he had not performed diligently in the past 10 years though a practising Christian and worshipper at House on the Rock in Abuja for years.

This is not just coincidence but a carefully orchestrated plan to embarrass President Buhari who is not only the leader of the party but of the country.

This visit cut down the profile of a state visit by the President, thankfully the day was saved a little with the presence of Governors of Kebbi, Adamawa, Ekiti, Ogun even the Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola, Asiwaju’s cousin could not join his colleagues obviously complying with instructions.

If this was not a sneak preview into how Asiwaju Bola Tinubu barely tolerates President Buhari, then nothing else can show it more as at now. He could not hide it.

Well President Buhari has just been served another telling diet in his relationship with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, it is obvious that in no distant time he will be able to appraise who truly is in his corner and who is not.

If President Buhari let’s his guard down it may be a costly mistake of a lifetime in no distant time.

This is the motive behind the relentless push and desperation behind anointing his candidates for Senate President and Speaker at the 9th assembly both being masked and presented as party’s choice, in cahoot with Comrade Adams Oshiomole, an attempt to hoodwink the President.

The President should watch his back.
