BREAKING: Lekan Shonde, Who Allegedly Beat His Wife To Death Has Been Arrested (PHOTOS)
The operatives from the Police Rapid Response Squad has arrested Lekan Shonde, alleged to have beat his wife to death.
Shonde was arrested in Monday, May 9, 2016 at his hideout in Ikeja, Lagos State. He went into hiding after his wife, Ronke Shonde was found dead in their Egbeda home on Friday, May 6, 2016.
The RRS command tracked Shonde to a location in Ikeja on Saturday and put him on surveillance until his arrest today.
In a statement by Shonde, while still in hiding, he said he didn’t kill his wife that he is innocent of the crime he is being accused of.
“I didn’t know anything had happened to her until Friday when I saw her on the staircase. I thought she was still pretending. I just left her and walked away,” Shonde said.
Lekan and Ronke were married for eight years and had two children together.
