Buhari, Gbajabiamilla Hold Closed Door Meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari and Mr. Femi Gbajabiamilla, a member of the House of Representatives whom the All Progressives Congress endorsed to become the Speaker but was slighted by Yakubu Dogara’s emergence, held a closed door meeting at about 10:00pm on Wednesday, July 1, 2015.

The meeting was held inside the Conference Hall of the First Lady’s Office situated at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Gbajabiamilla had led 29 other lawmakers who are obviously in his camp to the meeting which started at about 10:00 pm with the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari alongside Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, the Vice-President.

Others who were present were drawn from all the six geo-political zones in Nigeria.

Newsmen were all asked to leave the room, while Senator Abu Ibrahim from Katsina State, who brokered the meeting was introducing Gbajabiamilla and his group to the President.

This meeting is part of the bid to resolve the leadership crisis rocking the two chambers of the National Assembly.
