David Letterman finally said goodbye on his late night show on Wednesday, May 20, 2015.
The comedian, host and writer, David Letterman, was born in 1947. He has been a show host since 1982 when he debut the NBC Late Night With David Letterman. In 1996, he debut the Late Show With David Letterman on CBS. In total, he has hosted 6,028 shows in his career as a late night show host.
He hosted the show for the last time on Wednesday night and he engaged in a monologue, talking about his retirement, his eye sight and people asking him what he was going to do next.

Foo Fighters closed the show playing David’s favourite song, Everlong. David Letterman had said a simple goodnight and thank you before introducing the band to officially close the show. Co-comedian and show host, Steven Colbert is set to take over as the shows host.
