One of Nollywood’s finest actors and directors, Desmond Elliot on Tuesday, November 2, 2014 won the All Progressive Congress (APC) ticket to contest for a seat at the Lagos House Of Representative.
Having won the party primaries, Elliot would be his party’s candidate for Surulere constituency at the 2015 general elections billed to hold on February 14, 2015.
It was learnt that his opponents stepped down for him at the primaries which took place in different venues.
There was a minor unrest during the voting in a Surulere venue following claims that Elliot, was favoured by the powers that be over the incumbent and two-term member of the House, Kabiru Lawal.
It was speculated that Elliot a candidate of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
It was also reported that Lawal will be compensated by the party with the position of chairman of Surulere Local Government Area of the state.
