Despite New Deal, Pellegrini Remains Uncertain Of Future At Man City

Must read

Manchester City manager, Manuel Pellegrini signed a new two-year contract with the club on Friday, August 7, 2015 which will see his contract expire in 2017 but he is not resting on his oars yet.

The Chilean’s future has been a subject of speculation for a long time now. German born manager, Jürgen Klopp and former Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti have been often tipped to replace the 61-year-old.

Speaking to reporters after signing a new deal, Pellegrini noted that renewing your contract with a club won’t stop them from sacking you if they really want to.

“You can sign for 10 years and four months after you are sacked!”

“When the two parts are happy you can extend. The owners are happy in the way we are working, I am happy so we know about the future.

“Of course Pep Guardiola is a manager every team will want to manage them. Maybe he’s more linked to this team because of Txiki (Manchester City’s sporting director).

“So no problem with my relations inside the club.

“I was used, last season, to the speculation. Ancelotti supposedly had a pre-contract signed and Jurgen Klopp had also a contract.

“I know what they think about that. I know what happened with that thing.”

Manchester City will kick-start their premier league campaign on Monday, August 10 at The Hawthorns when they face West Bromich Albion.
