A man identified as the aide of Ekiti state governor elect, Ayo Fayose, Omolafe Aderiye was shot dead by unknown gunmen in the evening of Thursday, September 25, 2014.
Aderiye, a former chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), while on his way home from a meeting with Fayose was accosted and shot at close range at the Ijigbo area of Ado-Ekiti, the state’s capital.
According to reports, Aderiye was present at the Ekiti state High Court same Thursday where a Judge was allegedly beaten up by pro-Fayose supporters.
