El-Rufai Appoints SSG, Aides, Others

Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the Kaduna State Governor-elect has appointed Malam Balaraibe Abbas-Lawal as the Secretary to the State Government.

Abbas lawal was a former Chief of Staff to Nasir El-Rufai while he was the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and also the chairman of the All Progressives Congress for Kaduna State Transition Committee.

In a statement on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, Mallam El-Rufai also announced the appointment of Malam Salisu Suleiman as his Principal Private Secretary while Mr. Abu Sheyin will be sworn in as the Private Secreatary to the Deputy Governor-elect, Mr Barnabas.

Other aides appointed include, Mr. Bala Yunusa as Deputy Chief of Staff (Legislative Affairs) while Mr. Samuel Aruwan will serve as Special Assistant on Media to the Governor.

Aruwan was the spokesperson for the Kaduna State APC Campaign Council in the 2015 elections.

He started his career as a journalist with Leadership Newspaper, until he was appointed the Kaduna Bureau Chief of the Blueprint Newspapers Limited.

Abbas-Lawal the new SSG, who was a former lecturer, served as the Chief of Staff when El-Rufai was the MInister of Federal Capital Territory alongside being the director in the Nasir El-Rufai Campaing Organisation.

Mr. Lawal was a lecturer with the defunct College of Advance Studies (now Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic), Zaria in Kaduna State and at the Administrative College of Nigeria, Badagry, Lagos State.

The newly appointed PPS is a Doctor of Philosohpy (Ph.D) holder in Public Policy.

Sheyin, the appointed Private Secretary to the Deputy Governor-elect was a former Secretary  and Acting Chairman of Jamaa Local Government while Yanusa, appointed Deputy Chief of Staff (Legislative Affairs) is a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly.

He once had a career as the Kaduna State APC Campaign Council and served on a sub-committee of the Transition Committee.
