Elon Musk Deletes Claim Linking Donald Trump to Notorious Epstein Files

Must read

WASHINGTON, USA — Elon Musk has deleted explosive social media posts in which he alleged that U.S. President Donald Trump appears in unreleased government files related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, as the high-profile feud between the tech billionaire and the president continues to roil political circles.

The now-deleted posts, published Thursday, June 5, 2025, on Musk’s platform, X, came just days after the Tesla and SpaceX CEO abruptly exited his advisory role in Trump’s administration.

Musk had served as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a cost-cutting initiative championed by the White House.

“Time to drop the really big bomb: (Trump) is in the Epstein files,” Musk posted, adding in a follow-up message: “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”

Musk provided no evidence for the claim and did not specify which documents he was referring to.

By Saturday, June 7, 2025, both posts had been quietly deleted.

The allegation came amid a dramatic public fallout between the two men, which was triggered by Musk’s fierce criticism of Trump’s proposed budget legislation, which he called “an abomination.”

The president, in turn, accused Musk of disloyalty and dismissed him as “wearing thin,” insisting he had asked for the billionaire’s resignation.

While the Trump administration has acknowledged it is reviewing a trove of documents, videos, and investigative records related to Epstein, no official evidence has been presented that links the president to any criminal activity.

Trump has not been accused of wrongdoing in the Epstein case.

A cache of depositions and court documents unsealed by a New York judge in early 2024 included Trump’s name among those who knew Epstein socially.

The president has denied ever visiting Epstein’s private island, Little Saint James, where prosecutors allege the financier trafficked underage girls.

“Terrific guy,” Trump once said of Epstein in a 2002 New York Magazine profile.

“He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”

Trump’s “Make America Great Again” base has long accused prominent Democrats and celebrities of being linked to Epstein’s crimes, while often excluding Trump from such theories.

Musk’s public challenge to that narrative rattled parts of the MAGA ecosystem and ignited fierce online debate.

The White House on Saturday, June 7, 2025, denied reports of an imminent reconciliation between Trump and Musk.

However, both men struck a notably softer tone on Friday, June 6, 2025.

“I just wish him well,” Trump told reporters.

Musk replied on X: “Likewise.”

Musk’s companies hold billions of dollars in federal contracts, and Trump has already hinted at reviewing those arrangements.

The administration has also faced calls from some allies to investigate Musk’s business activities and immigration status.
