English FA Clears Jose Mourinho Over Rift With Blues’ Former Doctor, Eva Carniero

After carefully studying footage from the 2-2 draw with Swansea on Saturday, August 8, 2015 the English Football Association has stated that Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho will not face charges for allegedly making discriminatory comments towards former club doctor, Eva Carneiro.

Carneiro and head physio, Jon Fearn were criticized by Mourinho for rushing on to the pitch to treat Eden Hazard despite the team being a man down.

The aftermath of Mourinho’s outburst saw the role of 42-year-old Carneiro downgraded at Chelsea before she eventually decided to leave the club.

While it is being reported that she is considering taking legal action the club, the FA has cleared Mourinho of any wrong doing as regards the complaint by a member of the public.

According to the FA. an independent academic expert in Portuguese linguistics analysed the video footage of the incident which shows the Portuguese making a verbal gesture. It is believed that what Mourinho said was not directed at anyone in particular.

“Both the words used, as translated and analysed by the independent expert, and the video evidence, do not support the conclusion that the words were directed at any person in particular,” the statement explained.
