Enugu Governorship Aspirant Found Dead: A Tragic End for Chief Dons Udeh

ENUGU, Nigeria – The political landscape of Enugu State was shaken on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, after the body of Dons Udeh, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship aspirant in the 2023 general election, was found in the 9th Mile area of the state.

Udeh, who went missing just four days ago, was confirmed dead by the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe.

The former Enugu State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had defected to APGA to pursue his political ambition of becoming the governor of Enugu State.

While the details surrounding his abduction and subsequent discovery remain unclear, Ndukwe confirmed the incident to Punch in a telephone call, promising to provide more information as it becomes available.

A family source reported that Udeh was last seen on Saturday, sparking fears that he may have been kidnapped.

By Sunday evening, his telephone was found near the wall of the Ogui Police Station, further raising suspicions that he had run into trouble.

Upon learning of the discovery of her husband’s phone, Udeh’s wife went to the Ogui Police Division to report his disappearance.

The tragic discovery of his remains has sent shockwaves through the community and the entire state, leaving many to wonder about the circumstances behind this unfortunate incident.
