A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered Governor Willie Obiano to stop parading himself as the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, gubernatorial candidate for the November 18, 2017 governorship election in the state, a report from the Nigerian capital said.

“The presiding judge delivered a ruling to serve Governor Obiano through substituted means on a prayer asking him to stop parading himself as the governorship candidate of APGA in the November 18th Anambra gubernatorial election,” the report by Elombah.com said.

APGA, the ruling party in Anambra, is factionalised, with Victor Oye leading the faction that produced Obiano as candidate while the faction led by Martin Agbaso produced a different candidate.

With this development, Obiano is no longer allowed to continue his re-election campaign as that will be deemed illegal a contempt of court.

A observer also stressed that Obiano must account for all the public monies he has, so far, wasted as a fake APGA candidate in the election campaigns all this while.

Meanwhile, Anambra citizens are awaiting the Supreme Court ruling that will determine who, between Obiano and Hygers Igwebuike, is the authentic candidate.

The court will also decide who, between Martin Agbaso and Victor Oye, is the  authentic APGA national Chairman.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, recognises Obiano as the candidate of APGA.
