Protest in the commercial city of Kano has continued for the second day s the installation of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the 57th Emir Of Kano.

Irate youth have taken over the street setting bonfires on the Emir palace road and chanting “bamuayi” meaning we will not agree. The protest has forced most schools and business to closed for the fear of attacks and looting. Financial institution have increase the number of security personnel on their premises. At the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano , private aircraft have been refused clearance to land by military authorities .

The emir, was installed today Lamido Sanusi after the death of Emir Ado Bayero. Protest greeted the announcement of the new monarch as irate youth lit bonfires and destroyed vehicles in various part of the ancient city as policemen and soldiers where drafted to calm the protest.

The aircraft conveying the River state governor, Rotimi Ameachi and other politicians was grounded by the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency
The military spoke person said confirmed the action saying it was purely based on security reasons.
The directive affected the Nasarawa state governor, Umaru Al-Makura, who was flying into the Kano this morning as the aircraft was not cleared to land.
