Democracy Day: FG Declares May 29 A Public Holiday

The Federal Government has declared Friday, May 29, 2015 a public holiday.

The declaration was made known on Monday, May 25, 2015 by the Minister of Interior, Abba Moro via a statement signed by signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Abubakar Magaji on behalf of the Federal Government.

Mr Moro congratulated President Goodluck Jonathan and Nigerians on the successful conduct of the 2015 general election.

Also, the Minister congratulated the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari on his victory while urging Nigerians to show maximum support for the incoming government.

On the said date, President Jonathan will officially hand over the mantle of leadership to Buhari.
