Students of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in Abia State, are now recounting their losses after fire gutted the newly built Post Graduate hostel in the early hours of Tuesday, July 7, 2015.
Eye witnesses said that the incident started from one of the rooms which made students scamper for safety.
No casualty was recorded as the fire was doused by some students who also broke the window glasses to help the elderly students out of the affected building according to reports.
The cause of the inferno is yet to be deciphered as at the time of the report but it is believed to have been sparked by electrical surge.
