EFCC To Arraign Former Police Commissioner For Alleged N10 Million Fraud

A former police commissioner in Abuja, will on Friday, May 6, 2016 be arraigned at a federal high court sitting in Maitama, Abuja over a one count charge bordering on criminal breach of trust and obtaining money by pretense.

The former commissioner of police, Mohammed Sambo is alleged to have obtained from his victim the sum of N10 million under false pretense, according to an Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) press release.

Sambo is alleged to have connived with one Nuhu Bello Dabai, and allegedly duped the managing director/CEO, Ideal Sunbeam International Company Limited, Abdul Malik Bello, of the sum of N10 million after claiming that he needed to defray both the survey and other preliminary expenses involved in the execution of a contract worth over N1 billion purportedly awarded him by Zamfara’s Governor Abdul Aziz Yari.

The accused person was subsequently arrested and granted an administrative bail by the Commission on January 19, 2015.

He, however, jumped the administrative bail granted him on April 7, 2015. He was eventually re-arrested on Wednesday, May 3, 2016, said the EFCC.
