A day after it became known that the school girls kidnapped from a Secondary School in Chibok are being moved abroad by their holders who also trade them for marriage for a paltry sum of N2000 , the House of Representatives has summoned all the service chiefs to appear before it to explain what steps they have taken so far in rescuing the girls.
Following a motion moved by Hon. Peter Gumtha (Borno, APC) titled: “Urgent Need to Secure the Release of the Abducted Girls of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State,” lawmakers, condemned the incident and urged security operatives to expedite action in rescuing the abducted girls.
According to Gumtha, 230 girls were still in captivity a fortnight after they were abducted. He lamented that parents of the abducted girls were yet to receive any reliable information from the military on the whereabouts of their children.
