I’m Confident Of My Plot To Clinch PDP Chairmanship On May 21 – Modu Sheriff

Must read

Against all odds, Senator Ali Modu Sherrif, national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has said despite the pressures mounting from stalwarts of the party, he would emerge chairman of the party at the May 21 convention in Port Harcourt.

Though he acknowledged the opposition being mounted against his final emergence, he said God only God crowns leaders and not the mortal man who is subject to failure.

Sherrif spoke on Thursday, May 12, 2016, in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital where he said he was ready to deploy every means possible to outsmart every game plan against his emergence and clinch the PDP chairmanship.

The former Borno governor said he is ready to play his role humanly possible but the ultimate victory lies in the the hands of the Supreme Being.

“My own is to do the right thing and sell myself to members of our party. With God on our side, I’m confident that our people will give me the mandate to lead them at this point in time,” he told journalists.

He is also of the belief that Taraba PDP members will work with him to emerge chairman of the party on May 21.

Founding father of the PDP have kicked against Sherrif’s ambition at a summit earlier this week. He was labelled a hoodlum and gangster and the party elders vowed to stop his ambition. Among the elders are Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Professor Jerry Gana, Senator Ibrahim Mantu, and Professor Tunde Adeniran
