Goldilocks Thief: Man Falls Into Deep Sleep Right Inside House He Robbed (PICTURED)

A man was arrested after he fell asleep in a house he robbed. 

He was not as lucky as Goldilocks, and was unable to get away before he was caught by the victims. 

The thief of the United Kingdom, was dubbed the “Goldilocks thief” because he fell asleep on the couch in the home of his victims. He collected about $16,000 worth of jewelry.

Derek Hardman, 31, was discovered at the home of Betty Spencer, 77, and her husband, John Spencer, 71, in Deane, near Bolton, Greater Manchester. He has ransacked the bedroom, and stole jewelry and fishing equipment before falling asleep. 

The career criminal was found snoring on the couch in the couple’s bedroom after he was “overcome with fatigue.”

When he awoke, Hardman tried to bite the leg of one of the neighbors who came over to help the couple, but the fabric of his pants saved the victim from injury. He was held down until police arrived to arrest him. 

Hardman pleaded guilty to burglary with intent, assault and possessing diazepam. He was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison.
