Gov. Wike Declares War On Criminals In Rivers State

Governor Nyesom Wike has declared Rivers State as non-grata for criminals.

He made the declaration shortly after the new Rivers State Police Commissioner, Chris Ezeike paraded some criminals and other exhibits as part of the successes recorded just one month in office at the State Police Headquarters, Monday in Port Harcourt.

Wike declared that, “We will not continue to wait for these boys to terrorize the people and business community. So we will take the war to wherever they are.”

The governor therefore pledged to provide full support and necessary logistics to aid the police in routing the criminals in the state.

While commending the police for the success so far recorded, Governor Wike observed that, “God’s time has come, and justice will take its course. You have given us hope.”

Governor Wike disclosed that soon government will unveil vehicles and other equipments to help the police work effectively.

Earlier, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ezeike assured that Rivers State will be rid of criminals and therefore warned all criminal elements to change or relocate from the state.

Among the operations put in place to dislodge the criminals include the new anti-cult operations in Eleme, Ubima and Emohua, stating that already success were being recorded in those areas.

The Police Boss stated that the achievements so far recorded were part of the commitment of the police to add impetus to the quest by the State Government to provide conducive environment for business and citizens.

He used the forum to implore on the traditional rulers, opinion leaders, parents and Council Chairmen to assist the police to fight crime in the state.

The police commissioner later paraded kidnap suspects held with ammunitions, a child theft suspect and another armed robber who claimed to be a soldier on AWOL and has been terrorizing the Eneka community with his AK 47 rifle.
