Ondo state Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 sacked six aides attached to his deputy, Agboola Ajayi and his wife.
This comes after the deputy governor defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, after a face-off with governor Akeredolu.
Following his resignation from the All Progressives Congress, APC, it is rumored that Ajayi will contest for the governorship slot of the party and run against Akeredolu in the upcoming Ondo state governorship election.
The affected aides are Olomu Bayo, special assistant, special duties; Olawale Mukaila, special assistant, photography, Babatope Okeowo, deputy chief press secretary; Samuel Ogunmusi, personal assistant, (deputy governor), Omotunmise Tokunbo, special assistant to the wife of the deputy governor; and Erifeyiwa Akinnugba, photography, wife of the deputy governor.
While wishing them luck in their future endeavors, the governor advised the affected aides to submit all government’s properties in their possession to his Chief of Staff.
