Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 withdrew the law suit against 19 All Progressives Congress state House of Assembly members who sought to impeach him alongside his deputy, Kolapo Olusola.
In the charges, which Justice Ahmed Mohammed had struck out, the plaintiffs, including the Speaker of The State House of Assembly, described as being occupied by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) factional Speaker, Olugbemi Joseph Dele); Ekiti State House of Assembly, Fayose and Olusola through their counsel, Ahmed Raji (SAN), had approached the court seeking to stop impeachment moves against the governor.
When the matter was called for hearing yesterday, counsel to the plaintiffs, Raji, informed the court of his client’s intention to withdraw the case.
The plaintiff’s counsel did not give reasons for the withdrawal, but Daily Sun gathered it was to allow them prosecute a fresh suit pending before another court presided over by Justice Evoh Chukwu
