A man identified as Soji Alayinla, a member of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ilamose ward of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos was allegedly attacked by thugs during a council meeting.
According to a report by Gazelle News on Sunday, April 6, 2014, Alayinla was brutally cut with matchetes by thugs for refusing to allow them infiltrate the congress venue with fake materials to manipulate voting results.
The source also alleged that the thugs acted on the instruction of a council chairman and inflicteddeep cuts on Alayinla leaving him fighting for survival.
Suspects have been arrested and are being detained at the Ejigbo police station.
The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
