‘Fulani Man Who Killed Fellow Herdsman Is A Known Criminal’ – Miyetti Allah (PICTURED)

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, has said that the young man who was reported to have killed a fellow Fulani herdsman near Rukuba Road, in Bassa Local Government, Plateau is a known criminal who specializes in robbery and cattle rustling.

Umar Dakari, state chairman of the organization said in an interview on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 said the suspect had a history of cattle rustling and had committed at least two similar cases before.

In the latest incident, the suspect allegedly lured seven year old Mohammed Ibrahim to an isolated place, butchered and buried him before making away with 15 cows and 14 sheep.

Dakari said MACBAN has since appealed to the father of the slain child to forgive and allow the law take its cause.

Mr. Ibrahim Haruna was in obvious pain and therefore unable to speak as at the time of publishing this report, but Police say they are making efforts to apprehend all the suspect’s accomplices, one of whom is in custody with the suspect.

Undie Adie, Plateau Police commissioner, paraded the suspect identified as Bala Yahaya Mohammed, at the Police Headquarters, Jos, saying the suspect has confessed to the crime.

He said the case was lodged at Laranto Police station by one  Ibrahim Usman on January 26, 2018 which the Police followed up and effected the arrest.

“One Ibrahim Usman of Sabon Layi Jos reported he was called on phone by one Bala Yahaya Mohammed to meet him at Zaria road cemetery which he did. That the said Bala Mohammed handed over to him 15 cows and 14 sheep for safekeeping in the pretext of going to look for his child. That he waited for Bala to come back but to no avail. Therefore, on 26th January 2018, he reported the incident at Laranto Police station,” the CP revealed.

According to the Police Chief, investigations are in progress to ensure that all the “culprits” connected to the incident are arrested to face the wrath of the law “to serve as deterrent” to others.

Paraded along with the suspect of rge “criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide” were three young men, between the ages of 18 and 20, arrested for raping one Basima Bashir, 14 on January 23, 2018 in Angwan Rogo Jos.

The suspects identified as Suleiman Usman, Umar Aliyu and Usman Bala, CP Adie said have confessed to the crime and would soon be charged to court.
