BENUE – A herbalist identified as Tarvhi Nyitse was remanded by a Magistrate Court on Wednesday January 22nd 2014, for allegedly performing homosexual acts. He was charged with unnatural offense punishable under Section 284 of the Penal Code.
30-year-old Nyitse resides in Naka in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue.
The prosecutor, James Zungwe told the court that the case had been reported to the ‘D’ Division Police station on January 16th by one Terzungwe Yev.
Yev reportedly told the police that his mother was sick and the accused, who had came to their neighbour’s house claimed he knew the cure for the ailment.
Yev added that he followed the herbalist to the bush to get some herbs to treat his mother.
He reportedly said that he was surprised when the accused pounced on him there in the bush and forcefully had sexual intercourse with him through his anus.
Nyitse’s plea was however, not taken.
According to the prosecutor, investigation into the matter is ongoing.
