Must read

An Igbo think-tank, known as Aka Ikenga, has threatened to drag the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, to the International Criminal Court, ICC, for his purported threat to the lives of the Igbo citizens in the state if they refused to vote for his chosen candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode,of All Progressive Congress, APC during the April 11 polls, according to Vanguard.

The president of Aka Ikenga, Chief Goddy Uwazurike, condemned the actions of the Oba while urging people to cast their votes conscientiously being their lawful right as Nigerians.

He said, “We have waited for a retraction in vain, but we have stated it repeatedly that people should vote according to their conscience without any fear or favour. Freedom of choice is an inherent right and nobody can take it away from Ndigbo.

“For the avoidance of doubt, threat to one Igbo man is a threat to us all. We shall do our civic duty as directed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the security agencies we have copied this release.

“It is a known fact that we seek free and fair elections. Where were Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani threatened for their votes?”
