Medical Director Arrested For Allegedly Killing 2 Women And Burying Them In Shallow Grave

Adio Adeyemi Adebowale, the chief medical director at Kaiama General Hospital, Kwara State, has been arrested by the police for alleged murder.

Adio was arrested in connection with the alleged murder of one Ifeoluwa (f) declared missing at Tanke area of Ilorin in 2021 and one Nofisat Halidu in Kaiama, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Okasanmi Ajayi, the spokesman of the State Police Command, broke the news in Ilorin on Sunday, October 2, 2022.

He said an investigation into the cases began on Saturday on the order of the new Police Commissioner, Paul Odama who resumed a few weeks ago, after stumbling on some petitions written by citizens in the State.

In the case of Ifeoluwa declared missing at Tanke, her body was later discovered in a bush in Alapa area of Ilorin, where the suspect, Dr Adio, dumped it according to the police investigation.

Okasanmi said “a particular matter that struck the new CP, was the reported case of one missing lady by name Nofisat Halidu (f), in Kaiama, on 21/11/2021.”

He said a high-powered investigation team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, in the State CID, was mandated to unravel the mystery surrounding the kidnap case and other unresolved cases before his assumption of office.

Okasanmi said, “Working on a lead provided by Dr Adio Adeyemi Adebowale, in Edo State, confirming he killed one Ifeoluwa (f) who was declared missing at Tanke area of Ilorin, investigation led the team to Kaiama General Hospital where the suspect’s office was forced open.

“A cursory look at the office presented a suspicious site of freshly cemented floor tiles; curiously, the tiles were broken and a gory site welcomed the detectives.

“Behold, lying inside the shallow grave was a decomposing carcass of an unidentified female.”

“Further search of the office led to the opening of a trash can where another body of a lady later identified as the earlier reported missing Nofisat Halidu (f) identified by the husband, one Halidu and other members of the community present at the scene during the search,” the spokesman further revealed.

Okasanmi disclosed that other items recovered in the detained doctor’s office included: “two telephone handsets found in the handbag of one of the ladies found in the doctor’s drawer, two female handbags, a female wig, a veil, and a female pants.”

“In furtherance of the investigation into the matter, the Kwara State Police Commissioner, Paul Odama, contacted the Edo State police command requesting for the release of the suspect to the Kwara State Police Command to answer some questions regarding discoveries in his office,” the spokesman disclosed.
