Following the recent outbreak of the Ebola disease in Nigeria, the Lagos State government has set up a reporting system to facilitate early identification of suspected Ebola cases.
An alert management system has been put in place to receive alerts calls from individuals or a community regarding suspected Ebola cases in addition to the creation of a website www.ebolaalert.org
Dr Jide Idris, the state commissioner for health also disclosed that communication materials are being distributed in addition to the various platforms like facebook: www.facebook.com/EbolaAlert, Twitter: @EbolaAlert and Mobile app:EbolaCheckUp.ebolaalert.org to correct the rumors and misinformation surrounding the Ebola disease.
