Lupita Nyong’o’s Stolen N30 Million Oscar Dress Has Been Returned (PHOTOS)

Must read

The dress Lupita Nyong’o’s wore to the Oscars was stolen from her hotel room in Hollywood.

The dress, priced at £100,000 (N30million), was custom made by Calvin Klien and made almost entirely of pearls.

The dress was recovered in a bathroom of the London hotel, which is currently being renovated, in Los Angeles by staff.

There are currently no suspects but cops are reviewing CCTV.

Apart from a few of the 6,000 pearls falling off, there is no damage to the dress, which Lupita, 31, wore for last Sunday’s ceremony, held in Hollywood.

LAPD’s Michael White said: “Hotel staff searched and found the dress in a bag hidden behind a counter in the bathroom.

“A few smaller pearls appear to have fallen off the dress, but it seems to be intact.”

The 12 Years A Slave actress was left devastated on Wednesday when she realised that the stunning gown had been stolen from her five star hotel room following the ceremony while she was out.

A spokesperson for the London said at the time: “This is a terribly unfortunate situation, and we are working with law enforcement on their investigation.”

LA police are keeping the dress in their possession until either Nyong’o or one of her team collect it.

Nyong’o won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar last year for her role in 12 Years A Slave.
