LAGOS, Nigeria – Madonna University of Nigeria has praised its esteemed alumna, Chef Hilda Baci, for a record-shattering culinary performance, setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
In a statement on Friday, May 19, 2023, titled “Celebrating Excellence and Congratulating our Proud Alumna, Hilda Bassey Effiong”, the university recognized Hilda’s immense achievement.
Associate Professor Martin Anagboso, DVC Admin, stated: “These awards are in recognition of her achievement.”
“Today, we are thrilled to shine a well-deserved spotlight on Hilda Baci, a remarkable individual whose journey showcases the spirit of excellence, one we are privileged and proud to have taken part in its nurturing,” Anagboso added.
Hilda, a successful chef and CEO of MyFoodbyHilda, began her record-breaking quest on the 11th of May 2023. The previous record for the longest cooking marathon stood at 88 hours, but Hilda, embodying the values of resilience, determination, and excellence, raised the bar to an impressive 100 hours.
The university used the opportunity to express pride in its record of academic excellence and its role in shaping the lives of its students and alumni.

The school’s founder and chancellor awarded Hilda a scholarship to PhD level in recognition of her remarkable accomplishment, reinforcing the commitment of the university to celebrate and reward outstanding alumni contributions.
