For sale: Michael Schumacher’s jet

Michael Schumacher’s wife Corinna is selling his private jet for £12million.

The sale, 207 days since his life changed forever in a ski accident in the French Alps – is seen as proof the Formula One legend’s globetrotting days are over.

Schumacher, 45, lies mute and immobile in a Lausanne clinic in Switzerland with long years of therapy ahead of him as he struggles to get back some of his old life that was shattered when he smashed his head on to rocks on December 29 last year.

Wife Corinna has now put a For Sale tag of $20 million on his grey Falcon 2000EX private jet, capable of carrying eight passengers and flying at 600 miles per hour, with the seven times world champion’s initials on it’s tailplane.

According to reports in Germany the reasons for the sale “are obvious.”

They added: “During his active time as a formula one driver, Schumi jetted between 300 and 400 hours annually with the aircraft around the world.”

Even in his three years break from racing he used the jet for many family vacations with Corinna as well as shuttling his Mick, 15, and Gina Maria, 17, to school in Switzerland.

“But now everything is different. The world of the Schumachers has changed,” said a source.

Schumacher is said to be making good progress in the Lausanne clinic following his re-emergence from a medically induced coma last month.

Corinna also intends to care for him in a specially built facility on the grounds of their mansion at Gland, 30 minutes drive from the clinic.
