The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has apprehended Obinna Chigbo for producing fake injection water in Gusau, Zamfara State.
Hamis Yahaya, the state coordinator, announced the arrest while speaking to the media in Gusau on Thursday, October 14, 2021.
Chigbo was nabbed on Monday in a one-bedroom apartment at Yarhanya of Tudunwada area
He was producing untreated borehole water without any form of sedimentation, filtration among others.
“We confiscated eight bags of the fake products, each contained 100 package of the product. He sells each for N500, the product is valued N400,000″, Yahaya said.
NAFDAC operatives also seized a local electrical stove Chigbo used for sealing the products.
The agency’s investigation and enforcement unit will prosecute him with the exhibits recovered.
