Nigerian Troops Hail Commander-In-Chief Goodluck Jonathan As He Visits The War Front (PHOTOS)

President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday, February 26, 2015 paid a visit to towns that were recently recovered from Boko Haram insurgents in the North eastern part of the country.

After landing at the Yola International Airport, President Jonathan headed for Mubi, Adamawa State, which was recently recaptured by Nigerian troops, where he met the Emir of Mubi, Isa Ahmadu and several residents who have returned to the town.

President Jonathan, who was flanked by all the service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, held a closed door meeting with the Emir before heading to Vintim Village, another recovered town and hometown to the Chief of Defence Staff

Mr. President is also scheduled to visit Baga in Borno State which was also recovered from Boko Haram very recently.

A source, who spoke to Premium Times on the condition of anonymity said: “Of course the President will be going to Baga today but the trip is not being handled by us here. I believe it is not something big but just a confidence building visit for the troops.”
