Northern Elders Forum Calls For Intense Scrutiny Of 3 Top Presidential Candidates

Must read

Baba Hakeem-Ahmed, the Northern Elders Forum, NEF, spokesman, has urged Nigerians to scrutinise all the presidential candidates contesting the 2023 elections.

While speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Hakeem-Ahmed said all the candidates should be scrutinised on how they intended to resolve Nigeria’s challenges if any of them emerged in 2023.

He pointed out that most of the presidential candidates were experienced, hence they should tell Nigerians how they intended to tackle the country’s challenges.

“These are all hugely-experienced people in terms of managing people. These are also people with enough money to get to at least a point where they are now candidates. Their personalities should be scrutinised,” he said.

These presidential candidates include Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party; Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, among others.

He noted the elections would be largely influenced by money, adding that it was important for the candidates to be scrutinised.

He said Nigerians have to “look at them, look at what they say, look at what they promise, and make a choice.”
