Must read

Following the results of the bomb blasts in Jos on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 that claimed the lives of about 118 people and others seriously injured, the State Working Committee (SWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jos has called on the people of the state to donate blood to surviving victims of the bomb blast undergoing treatment at the hospital.

This statement was issued on Friday, May 23, 2014.

Publicity secretary of the party, Mr Peter Shyepsuk had disclosed that some of the bomb blast victims died as a result of excessive bleeding.

“It was observed that many victims are dying due to excessive bleeding and needed blood.

“This has made it imperative for us to call on spirited individuals to get to these hospitals and donate blood to save the lives of these brothers and sisters.”

However, Officials of the party who visited the hospital also confirmed that the hospital was running short of blood needed to save the victims.

The statement also revealed that the SWC team sympathized with the families who lost their loved ones and those whose relations are critically ill in hospitals after the bomb blast.

The SWC team also acknowledge the unrelenting efforts put in by various medical centres and their teams by offering their services to help preserve the lives of the injured victims and also commend the State government for their overall support and assistance to the people in this period of crises.
