A police officer was on Sunday, January 25, 2015 arrested for allegedly shooting and killing his 23-year-old mistress after she threatened to end the relationship and thereafter hint his wife about the affair.
The 26-year-old officer, Takashi Mizuuchi reportedly used a belt to strangle the deceased woman, Hikaru Shirata at about 8a.m in her apartment located at Higashisumiyoshi Ward, Japan.
According to Japan Today reports, the victim’s body, fully clothed, was found in the bathtub at around 11 a.m. after the apartment building manager received a call from her workplace expressing concern that she hadn’t shown up for work and that they could not contact her.
During police interrogation, Mizuuchi, who married another woman in August 2014 disclosed that he strangled the deceased in order to preempt her plans to disclose the secret of their love affair to his wife after ending the relationship.
Police officials arrested him and charged him with murder after necessary interrogation.
