The fiancee of a man, Oluwatosin Odukeye, who was killed by hired thugs in the Surulere axis of Lagos state had reportedly miscarried the baby.

It was learnt that the couple were already making plans to tile the knot in March.

The 32-year-old was allegedly murdered in January 15, 2015, at Makinde Street, Ojuelegba, by hoodlums who obeyed the order of the victim’s boss, Shade Onafowope.

According to Leadership, a police inspector attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, where the case is being investigated, disclosed that the widow of the late Odukeye collapsed in shock and lost her pregnancy in the process.

He said, “According to the family, the couple was planning to wed in March this year.
The case was transferred to us from Surulere Police Station.
The victim was a lottery agent of Premier Lotto, at Abiodun Street, Shomolu, which is one of their numerous offices in Lagos.

A man reported the victim to his boss, Sade Onafowope, that he (the victim) gave him the sum of N500 for a game worth N1000. When the result came out the man noticed that he won N240,000 and came for his money.

The explanation that he deleted it did not go down well with the customer who reported the matter to the boss. Odukeye was taken to Ojuelegba where he was allegedly bound and tortured to death.

“She rushed the victim to a private hospital at Idiaraba, where he was confirmed dead. Instead of telling the police the truth, the woman showed the police a fake autopsy report indicating that the victim died of motor accident.

“Unknown to her, somebody was recording the torture process on his handset and the SCID is banking on it as evidence.”

“When the woman learnt that her deed was discovered, she allegedly begged the father of the deceased with the sum of N1m to forget the case but he refused to collect the money.”

Odukeye”s father Mr. Odunkeye, wept profuslely over the tragedy that had befallen the entire family.
