President Jonathan Relocates To Glass House As Official President’s Residence Undergoes Renovation

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has relocated from his main official residence at the Presidential villa to another section of the vast complex known as the glass house, paving way for the renovation of the main residence according to the incoming President Muhammadu Buhari’s taste.

The President is due to leave office on Friday May 29, 2015 and is to take General Buhari and his vice Prof. Yemi Osibanjo on a tour around the Presidential Villa on Thursday, May 28 2015.

Reliable sources have disclosed that the President and the First Lady moved their personal belongings out of the official residence to their Otuoke, Bayelsa residence soon after the release of the Saturday, March 28 2015 presidential election results.

One of the sources said ” I can confirm to you that most of the first family’s property have left the State House.

“The president is now staying in then Glass House with very few belongings.

“The intensive renovation of the President’s residence is going on now.

“Minor repairs are going on in some parts of the House .

“Cleaning and repainting with white paint is in progress,” the source disclosed.

The furnishing aspect is to be put on hold until Gen. Buhari takes control so as to determine the kind of furniture he wants.

Another Source at the villa disclosed that “The state House staff are in high spirit, waiting and hoping that the promised change of the incoming government will benefit them and the nation at large”

The Special adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati was not in the office on Friday, May 15, 2015 and could not be reached on telephone to get his perspective on the latest development.
