Abdulahi Rakieu, a retired Assistant Comptroller-General of Immigration, was abducted in the Tungan Maje area of Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
Three other persons were also abducted in the attack that happened on Saturday, February 6, 2021.
The kidnappers were said to have raided the victims’ houses and whisked them away.
The community, on the fringes of Abuja, has suffered similar attacks in recent times.
Last September, several persons were abducted in the middle of the night.
Though they later regained their freedom, among those abducted were a pregnant woman and children.
Mariam Yusuf, the Federal Capital Territory Police spokesperson, said the Command has launched a strategic counter-kidnapping operation to checkmate the emerging security concerns.
