Rihanna and boyfriend A$AP Rocky have tied the knot… well, sort of.
The celebrity couple, who are expecting their first child together, have been head-over-heels for each other since first getting together in 2019.
The pair have made no public moves toward marriage since starting their relationship, but at the same time also become husband and wife – in Rocky’s new music video, that is.
The rapper released the video for his track D.M.B on Thursday, May 5, 2022, which features him with the Diamonds singer throughout.
In the video, Rihanna and Rocky pack on the PDA as they smoke, drink, and get in trouble with the law together.
At one point, Rocky proposes by wearing teeth grills which spell out ‘Marry me’, while Rih’s spells out ‘I do’.
The video then shows Rocky and Rihanna getting married, with the singer lifting a red veil as they are pronounced husband and wife.
Friends of the newly-wedded musicians then throw rose petals on the couple after the ceremony.
Despite causing a buzz online upon its release on Thursday, it seems like Rihanna and Rocky’s engagement and marriage was purely for the purpose of the video, with a source telling TMZ it was just for fun.
The couple are more than busy enough without throwing a wedding into the mix, with their first child’s due date rapidly approaching.
Parents-to-be Rocky and Rihanna stepped out over the weekend to check out Dave Chappelle’s comedy show Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival, where they rubbed shoulders with other celebrities at the star-studded affair.
However the night was not without its drama, as a member of the crowd rushed the stage and tackled Chappelle near the end of his set.
Police later identified the attacker as Isaiah Lee, 23, who has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon but has avoided felony charges.
The incident comes after Rihanna and Rocky faced a difficult few weeks, with the rapper arrested at LAX airport in April in relation to a shooting that took place in November 2021.
He was released on bail pending investigation.
