BENIN —The wife of the former registrar of the Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, Mrs .Kate Edikpayi was found dead on Wednesday January 8th 2014 after allegedly committing suicide.
The university city of Ekpoma was thrown into mourning as her husband, Mr. Larry Edikpayi found her lifeless body dangling in one of the rooms in their boy’s quarters.
According to reports, the deceased might have been frustrated about her health challenges that she may have taken her life.
Mrs. Edikpayi had been suffering diabetic conditions.
On her disappearance, Mr. Edikpayi suspected she had been kidnapped after a long search for her was unsuccessful.
After a thorough search of the building, he found the door to the boy’s quarters bolted from inside. He forced the door open only to find her body hanging from the ceiling without any suicide note.
Mr. Edikpayi retired from the university recently.
Until her death, Mrs. Edikpayi was an Assistant Director with the Edo State Ministry of Education, overseeing the ministry’s office in Ekpoma.
