The Nigerian Senate on Thursday, August 13, 2015 approved the request of President Muhammadu Buhari for a $75m World Bank loan to be granted to Edo State.
The request was granted after an ad-hoc committee, led by Senator Kabiru Gaya reviewed the loan request.
The granting of the loan request was not without drama as a senator representing Edo South, Senator Mathew Urhoghide, attempted to push a motion rejecting the request, but his pleas fell on deaf ears.
