In a battle that drew both cheers and jeers on YouTube, a fisherman in a kayak hooked a shark off Stuart, Florida — and got more than he bargained for.
The clip shows Ben Chancey of Chew On This Fishing Charters reveling in the fight, until the shark pulls him into the water and his kayak capsizes. Chancey quickly swims to a nearby boat.
The video ends with a breathless Chancey re-boarding the kayak to make another attempt to catch the shark. The video description says he eventually managed to reel it in.
But Chancey’s adventure did not earn universal admiration. One YouTube user wrote, “absolutely cheering for the shark.”
