#SoundOff: Dear, APC Impunity Cheerleaders, One Day It Will Land On Your Laps

Must read

[dropcap]O[/dropcap]nly an unpopular decision would need public sympathy before implementation.

If someone is a suspect, please learn to treat him as one…

I once was accused of threatening to kill someone…

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) who was at the forefront of my case is even dead now… It turns out that though he was facing tough medical challenges, he was still as evil as they come.

When I showed him the correspondence I had put in motion concerning my case, he was shocked. I told him that the only reason why I held is because the man had told me how he needs medication and was was unwell.

I was able to sort out the matter because I had ‘the connections’. Many people don’t have these connections, so they get accused of committing crimes they did not commit and suffer untold hardships.

Sometimes, I can’t help imaging what would have happened if the case had dragged on and on and became public knowledge. Some APC e-rats would have got wind of it and gone all over Facebook calling me a murder… these are the same dimwits who tried to damage my reputation during the 2015 elections.

My point is that no matter how long it takes… injustice meted out to others will also be applied on you directly and indirectly. It serves everyone if we speak out against injustice.

But, since some partisan commentators are given to cheering this lawless government on. This is my tongue-in-cheek advice – Do, please, continue to encourage Buhari and his government officials to be lawless… continue to encourage them to flout court orders and frame the innocent.

Sambo Dasuki, Nigeria’s former National Security Advisor, is a Northern prince, an heir to the Sokoto Sultanate. He had got money, he has clout – in Nigeria and internationally, and he has plenty connections. He can take care of himself.

When Buhari turns his fangs on you… don’t inbox me begging me to help you ‘make some noise’ about your case. It is then that you’ll know that impunity is impunity, regardless of the victim. And don’t think it cannot never happen to you, because it will. What you celebrate, surely lands on your laps.

You case may end up being that of my junior brother, the Buhari cheerleader who told me he wanted to come visit me but, eh, he didn’t have petrol in his car. I almost hurt of laughter. I just had to rub it in, “Aren’t you the one who shouted that Buhari’s body language had reduced fuel shortages? What’s going on now?”

In Nigeria, the leaders tend to be epitomes of the wealthy, while their followers are often epitomes of poverty.

No matter how bad it gets… the leaders and their families will probably never know poverty. Think Abacha, think IBB, think Abdulsalam, think Obasanjo…

I can’t say same for their supporters… who are soon forgetten.

Show me a poor person in government today and I shall show you my tattoo.
