Nothing honours God more than our obedience to Him. God has many children, but few friends. Read the Bible; many are called servants and children, but only a handful are called friends.
But we can all be friends of God. First, you must quit being friends with the world. Apostle James said, “You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.” James 4:4
And Jesus said to the disciples, “You are my friends if you do what I command.” John 15:14
The good news is that we don’t have to struggle to obey Him. His commandments are easy, and then, He has given us a heart that desires to please Him. He works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure; and His grace is sufficient for us!
