“Oppression is when a person or
group in a position of power
controls the less powerful in cruel
and unfair ways.” It is also defined as “prolonged cruel or unjust treatment or exercise of authority.”
There are students who are oppressed by their lecturers; there are people who are oppressed by their spouses; there are employees who are oppressed by their bosses and employers; and there are tenants who are oppressed by their landlords. Some are oppressed spiritually by Satan. They have been afflicted with sicknesses and diseases that have refused to be cured; some haven’t slept well in a while; some cry every night; some are always worried, hoping for the day they would be delivered. Today is that day, in the name of Jesus!
Acts 10:38 says, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed. Receive your freedom now, in the name of Jesus!
