Abraham heard that his nephew Lot, was captured and he wasted no time in going after those who captured him, in order to rescue his nephew. Abraham used his own men and his resources to work for Lot’s freedom; he didn’t delegate the task to anyone, he went to war himself.
That’s the spirit that God wants us to have; God wants you and I to have a heart for other believers. See, we are all blood relatives! The blood of Jesus connects us all and God is our Father. We should never hear that something is wrong with one of us and be unconcerned about it; we must act fast and support our own.
We must fight for one another on our knees. It’s our ministry as priests. Especially when our brethren seem to have been captured by the enemies of our faith – sin, deception, the world and the devil. That’s not the time to gossip, it’s a time to seek a lost soul, no matter the cost.
James 5:19-20 says, “My dear brothers and sisters, if someone among you wanders away from the truth and is brought back, you can be sure that whoever brings the sinner back from wandering will save that person from death and bring about the forgiveness of many sins.”
Prophetic Declaration
I will not be unconcerned about the physical and spiritual welfare of my brethren; I will fulfill my ministry as an intercessor, and I will work together with other believers to work towards the restoration of those who have wandered away. Amen.
