“Now if you obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me.” – Exodus 19:5
Nothing pleases God like obedience to Him; it glorifies and honours Him. God will shake the heavens and the earth for the man and woman who lives in obedience to Him: obedience to God is, and will always be the way to enjoy the very best of God.
1 John 3:22 says, “And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him.” God is not partial, neither is He a respecter of persons; but He is very principled and He honours His word. God is never under pressure to answer prayers; He is God Almighty and nothing can stop Him from being God: we cannot live however we please and then think that He would be forced to answer all our prayers simply because we prayed to Him; no, we must live in obedience to His word and do the things that please Him.
Friendship with God is dependent on how obedient we are to His word. Without mincing words, Jesus said, “You are my friends if you do what I command.” John 15:14. He also said, “When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.” John 15:10. We must live in complete obedience to the Lord. Amen.
I am a doer of the word of God and not a hearer only; I love God with all my heart and I desire to please Him every day of my life. From today, I will live in total obedience to the word of God, by the help of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
